Steve is the co-founder and president of Island Software Company. www.islandsoftwareco.com Island Software developed Massage Office™, Massage Office Professional™, and Reflexology Office™ practice management software. Many years of hard work and dedication has produced the most comprehensive and user friendly software products to the Alternative Health Industry.
After owning a national marketing company for 8 years, Steve decided to change his life path and enter the field of alternative health. He graduated from the Asten Center of Natural Therapeutics, massage therapy program, in 1992. He was the Primary Therapist for the Bone and Joint Center at St. Paul Medical Center of Dallas. During his work with St. Paul, he developed a strong massage therapy program and was responsible for marketing this program to the public as well as the physicians. He was also responsible for developing and implementing administrative forms and "paper flow" procedures.
Steve then went on to be the manager and therapist for Genesis Rehabilitation in Dallas, Texas. He became very familiar with clinic management and working with insurance billing and medical records. Since 1995, Steve has been the owner and operator of Island Day Spa, (www.islanddayspa.com), a full service Massage Therapy Center and Day Spa. Utilizing the techniques he developed in conjunction with his software, Island Day Spa grew from 1 therapist and 32 clients, to 5 therapists and over 8000 clients in less than 4 years. Steve is also a registered CE Provider in the state of Texas.

 

Cary Bayer

Cary Bayer was the keynote address speaker at the 2006 American Massage Therapy Association convention in Atlanta. He is a Life Coach in Florida and New York, who's worked with Alan Arkin, David Steinberg, Quality Inns, and some 80 massage therapists around the country, and ran his own marketing and PR firm for 18 years.  He founded The Breakthrough Aerobics Inner Workout, and authored two dozen publications on personal growth, including The Prosperity Aerobics; Breakthrough Coaching for Massage Therapists; Reach out and Touch Someone: Tips for Marketing Massage; Massage Therapists and Money; and Knowledge for Power and Success: The Keynote Address for the 2006 American Massage Therapy Association National Convention.

His four CEU classes--developing prosperity consciousness; the art of marketing a massage business; how to communicate effectively; and how to write--have been extremely popular with LMTs at annual conventions and chapter meetings.  Each class is certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and the Florida Department of Health's Board of Massage Therapy.

A faculty member of Massage Business University, Cary writes regular columns for a variety of massage publications, including Massage Today nationally; Massage Message throughout Florida; and Massage Matters in Connecticut.  He also writes a syndicated column called "Life 101," that runs in newspapers throughout the country.

He's led seminars on Success, Prosperity, Marketing, Sales, Breakthroughs, Meditation, Relationships, Communications and Purpose in North America and Europe.  His Breakthrough Coaching develops quantum shifts in his clients' finances, careers, and relationships. 

 

Vivian Madison-Mahoney
Vivian has been teaching massage therapists how to accept, bill and receive payment from insurance companies since 1990. 
She has served as the Florida State Massage Therapy Association (FSMTA) Insurance Committee Chair for approximately 15 years and responds to questions from massage therapists referred to her by other massage organizations. In addition she has been asked to serve as an expert witness for defense, plaintiff's and insurance companies on massage therapists' issues as they relate to insurance billing. She has been a member of FSMTA & AMTA for 22 years, is a CE Provider for NCBTMB, FL & TX.
 
Vivian owned and operated her own massage therapy establishment in Fl for nearly 16 years. She was fortunate to have received patient referrals from over 175 physicans, City and County Offices as well as insurance companies themselves. Her staff of up to 14 massage therapists treated an average of 28-32 patients a day in her facility. She was the first to ever bill insurance in a massage clinical atmosphere and the very first to accept workers' compensation for payment of injured workers.
 
Learning about insurance the hard and time consuming way because there was no available assistance at the time, Vivian has dedicated her life to helping massage therapists to accept medical clients and take insurance for reimbursement of those services. She writes for a variety of massage magazines, newspapers and other outlets. Vivian has authored the "Comprehensive Guide to Insurance Billing & Practice Building" manual and has since authored the best selling manual and homestudy course related to insurance billing and complete practice building advice and guidance titled, "Manipulate Your Future". Dana Pharant, RMT
Dana has been in practice since 1992 and is constantly upgrading her skills as a therapist and entrepreneur by continually working on her own personal growth.

Dana began her primary training in Massage Therapy, and also has completed certification in Reflexology, Master's level in Reiki, Neurolinguistic Programming, Myofascial Release, and visceral manipulation to name a few.

In 1995 Dana opened Whole Body Healing, and then in 1999 it became Whole Body Healing - Therapy & Supplies with the addition of professional therapy supplies. In 2006 Whole Body Healing - Therapy & Supplies became a franchise system and is growing with new locations across Canada.
